Suella Braverman plans injunctions on those ‘likely to protest’

The Public Order Bill currently in the Commons is an illiberal and authoritarian measure designed to restrict further the democratic right to protest. The Home Secretary Suella Braverman who like her predecessor Priti Patel is determined to criminalise protest has now added an amendment which would allow injunctions against likely protesters.

Those who Ms Braverman thinks are likely to protest include Labour and LibDem voters, Guardian readers, the woke, tofu eaters and of course the anti-growth coalition. There is no explicit mention of the real enemy within, beard wearers. Yet…
