The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has welcomed the news that Liz Truss has resigned as Prime Minister. The campaigners say that while she was approached during her campaign to be Tory leader about adopting Beard Friendly policies she declined to engage.
The BLF is calling for an immediate General Election and a Prime Minister who embraces beard friendliness
BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, while the last Prime Minister with a beard, Lord Salisbury, was a Tory we see no evidence that the modern Tory Party is beard friendly. We think a clean shave of Tory policies and a new follicle friendly Government is needed
