The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that it has banned Tory MP for Stoke on Trent Jonathan Gullis for the forseeable future, after comments he made on Channel 4 on 14th March.
Gullis, supporting the Government’s refugee bill, said that he was not concerned with upsetting the Wokerati of North Islington (Islington North is the Parliamentary seat held by Jeremy Corbyn) who he claimed were champagne socialists who pontificate all day.
Gullis went on to make further comments about Match of the Day host Gary Lineker.
The BLF says that Gullis was making a clear attempt to stereotype and demonise beard wearers even though he wears a beard himself.
BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, the ban means Mr Gullis will not be eligible for any Beard Awards for the forseeable future.Indeed it might be better if he shaved his beard off altogether lest he be mistaken himself as a member of the Wokerati.
