Beard Friendly Party Conference 2023: Can Liberal Democrats win for first time since 2014?
The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that with the Party Conference season underway as the Liberal Democrats meet in Bournemouth the battle has been well and truly joined again in the poll for the ‘Most Beard Friendly Party Conference’.
The LibDems are the traditional party of beard and sandal wearers but their conference last won the Beard Friendly title in 2014
The BLF has observers watching each of the main conferences, LibDems in Bournemouth, Labour in Liverpool and the Tories in Manchester with the winner announced on October 11th the final day of the Labour conference.
BLF Organiser Keith Flett, this is the first year since 2019 that all three UK wide parties with the most seats in Parliament have held an autumn conference. The LibDem Conference has seen some credible beards at the rostrum but how beard friendly it is in comparison to the Tories and Labour remains to be seen
