After taking steps to enter administration and with rumours that private equity group Breal might step in (again) its good to see that Leeds based North Brewing have secured their future with financial backing from the owner of Kirkstall Brewery.
Whether this will work in the medium term against a backdrop of an economy heading for recession and continuing issues in hospitality remains to be seen. Let’s hope it does but even if ultimately it doesnt it still provides an alternative to the apparently relentless march of PE through troubled craft brewing
