A Tory Minister Hugh Merriman (who?) has been moaning about the BBC’s supposed bias. He has complained that an episode of the News Quiz consisted of lots of anti-Tory material. When it was pointed out to him that the programme is satirical and was satirising the Government he struggled to grasp such a complex idea.
In reality however it surely only a matter of time before the Tories come for the Archers. Queen Camilla is a big fan but that means nothing to the current culture war Tories. This week for example Brian was reported as watching the news while Alice said the news was so bad she couldn’t watch. Surely there was room for praise of Commander Sunak’s glorious war in Yemen, and when was the last time we heard a toast to the Tory Government in the Bull?
