Campaigners call on Vaughan Gething to focus on an inclusive Beard Friendly Wales
The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has called on the newly elected leader of Welsh Labour Vaughan Gething, who will become Wales First Minister next week, to focus on promoting a Beard Friendly Wales.
The campaigners say that Gething won the vote by a whisker and the decision of the other contender Jeremy Miles to shave his beard off early in the campaign may have been a factor.
Vaughan Gething is the first Welsh Labour leader to have a full-time beard and the Beard Liberation Front hopes that this will be a signal for the further promotion of an inclusive and beard friendly Wales.
BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, we congratulate Vaughan Gething. This means that two of the four nations will have a leader with a beard. Perhaps there is an electoral tip for Keir Starmer there.
