A world we have partly lost. Beer list for the 1990 London Drinker beer festival(Camden Centre) 14-16th March

The London Drinker Beer Festival was organised by the London branches of CAMRA and took place in March each year at the Camden Centre in central London opposite Kings Cross station. It no longer runs not because of lack of demand (it was always packed) but because Camden decided to do something else with the hall,

The beer list for the festival is above. Its good to see that at least some of the breweries are still going. There are a few stronger beers and some broadening of styles beyond mild and bitter reflecting the influence of CAMRA.

Foreign beer and home cooked food were in a side hall

And yes I attended every London Drinker Beer Festival….

The Birkenhead Beer Festival ran for years at Pacific Road, an old Tramshed. It was a music venue (Blues Band, Wilko Johnson Nils Lofgren and Bad Manners among many). It also hosted many small businesses including a guitar repair shop. During austerity the council closed it in order to refurb the Floral Pavilion. Needless to say there are no beer festivals held there.

Scotch Ale is fierce hard to find in Ireland.
I usually stock up when in Scotland & was glad to find Broughton Old Jock in Tescos,
    Glad to see it surviving.
