On Saturday Michael Rosen shave Zohran Mamdani to win the Beard of Summer 2025 vote as the conclusion to National Beard Week, organised by the Beard Liberation Front.
The final Beard Off round saw 3,300 votes cast in the on-line poll with author and broadcaster Michael Rosen winning 40.4% against 28.2% for New York Democratic politician Zohran Mamdani. Comedian and activist Alexei Sayle came a close third with 23.7% of the vote
Michael Rosen presented some children’s shows at the Glastonbury festival and also found that his Beard of Summer victory was already being celebrated
