E P Thompson retained an enduring fascination for the Times letters page as representative of a swathe of Middle England thought, often rather reactionary. Not one letter is from London, let alone North London
Its not quite the Daily Telegraph but its a long way from the Guardian and suggests that Yvette Cooper is increasingly isolated on this issue
