The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that it is no surprise that Green Party membership in England and Wales has risen 50% to 100,000 after Zack Polanski was elected leader.
The Green Party Conference was found to be the most beard friendly of the autumn conference season, while the Green Party has, arguably, more beard friendly policies than others represented in Parliament
BLF Organiser Keith Flett said, we have always said that despite the clean shaven nature of much, but not all, of the top of UK politics, that beards are politically popular. Zack Polanski seems to give this some credibility. He must be prepared however to fend off attacks from those who demand to know what policies he is hiding under his beard.
