The 12th Earl of Portland calls & Mulligan is found dead
David Archer has form. It started with badger murder. Then Nigel Pargetter fell off the roof of Lower Loxley while Daveed was in attendance. No prosecution followed. This week Archer visited an adjacent farm of someone on his own admission he hardly knew, indeed he did not even know his first name, because he was according to the BBC dropping off a spare part that Mulligan had mentioned to him. It’s story line worthy of the Traitors, and the traitor in question is David Archer aka Tim Bentinck, the 12th Earl of Portland.
George is back. Demonisation of Grundys has also returned
George Grundy is back in the Ambridge flow, making several appearances at The Bull. He is cocky and arrogant, which, on the other side of the class divide also describes how Freddie Pargetter was and is. Pargetter does however have occasional moments of self-reflection. George not so much.
Lilian is determined to ban George from the Bull while Jolene thinks he deserves a chance at rehabilitation. It’s a classic debate and at its root is the long standing demonisation of the Grundys by both the BBC and the Ambridge ruling class
Esme Mulligan: will she stay or will she go?
Mulligan’s daughter Esme has made an appearance. Not a farmer but a web designer etc. Will she become an Ambridge regular. Time will tell as will her other commitments- currently in a touring version of Louise Alcott’s Little Women
