Brewdog Collab Fest 2025. No Direction Home
Brewdog’s annual Collab Fest is underway (23-26 Oct). Once a significant event in the craft beer year, craft beer is now known as Indy and Brewdog have issues.
So to be clear I don’t usually drink in Brewdog bars because of those issues. However I was interested to see what a Collab Fest looked like in 2025.
2019 seems to have been the pinnacle when 75 breweries were involved and the emphasis was on the experimental
In 2025 there are 35 breweries and 30 beers. Very few if any are experimental. A mixture of IPAs, stouts and a few sours.
One might think that any brewery doing a collab with Brewdog risked reputational damage, but despite closures Brewdog still has a substantial pub estate and in tough times business is business.
Anyway I stopped by the only Welsh Brewdog on Cardiff at 4pm on the 23rd October. There were half a dozen punters. No doubt it got busier.
I tried a flight of four thirds (£9ish). An amber/crimson lager from Utopian, an Irish Red from Drop Project, an IPA from Fierce and an American IPA from Electric Bear. The first two were decent, the second two nothing remarkable.
In summary things ain’t what they used to be, and we know why
