The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has said that the victory of hirsute democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani in the New York Mayoral election is proof that in 2025 a progressive beard can be electorally popular.
There hasnt been a British PM with a beard since Lord Salisbury stepped down in 1902 and there appears little prospect of this changing in the near future
