Below is a transcript of part of an interview Liz Truss gave to GB News. In it she supports Donald Trump’s attempt to interfere with UK media, as he has been doing with the US media.
The BBC has apologised to Trump for an error in a Panorama programme, which should have been corrected sooner. It has declined correctly to pay Trump damages. How is it possible for Trump to suffer reputational damage.
Truss of course backs Trump. Much as she says she wants the BBC to be defunded its hard to avoid the point that this looks a bid for an appeara nce in the 2026 Celebrity Traitors series. Truss would certainly make an excellent traitor.
GBNews of course wants the BBC to be defunded so that its far right conspiracy theories gather a bit more of the niche market they address.
“Lots of people in Britain are cheering Trump on. They’ve lied, they’ve cheated, they’ve fiddled with footage. They’ve also covered up what’s happening in Britain, whether it be mass migration or economic problems. They are always biased towards the left, and the British taxpayer has had to pay for all of this fake news. I believe the organisation needs to be defunded. It needs to be put out of its misery.”
