Reform UK boss Nigel Farage has written a letter to a number of papers.
Of course as with everything Reform UK does qualification is required. Firstly its not written by Farage. Given the comment by the original founder of UKIP Alan Skeed that he spent a couple of hours trying to get Farage to grasp the difference between it’s and its and then gave up it can be taken that its either the work of a minion or as likely AI (Guardian 26th May 2014).
Secondly its not actually a letter but a two page paid advert. It appears in the Times, Sun, Metro, Mail, Express and Telegraph. According to LibDem leader Ed Davey the cost is likely to be around £1m
Given that Farage actually has pieces in the Telegraph and Express on 27th July it makes one wonder if the left and right hands of Reform are co-ordinated.
The advert does not mention Russian bribes or racist language but waffles on for a few paragraphs about Reform’s economic ‘policies’. It does not of course appear in the Guardian or the Mirror which are critical of Farage (and certainly not the Morning Star or Financial Times). Its difficult to understand, given how much coverage Farage & Co get anyway, as the advert as being anything more than a gratuity to the papers involved for not being critical.
Aside from the words the other half of the advert is a picture of Farage (minus cigarette or wine glass) which may be useful for darts players. The post on Twitter also has a picture of what might be Farage’s full English breakfast which unsurprisingly does not include black pudding.
