The Beard Liberation Front, the informal network of beard wearers, has named Australian batter Travis Head as the Beard of the Ashes series.
The campaigners say that Head, promoted to open the Australian innings, has been a positive promoter of Beard Power on the cricket field.
Other players including England’s Joe Root, who scored two centuries, displaying for the first time a full beard, came close.
