The Ambridge Socialist. New beer on the bar at The Bull Klaxon

In Uncategorized on September 7, 2026 by kmflett

The Bull Ambridge is a Shires of Borchester house and has sold Shires, a classic pale ale, for generations.

Other beers at The Bull are a rarity but on Monday night landlady Jolene served temporary resident Sgt Harrison Burns with a pint of Waterloo Sunset.

Sadly there was no vocal sing along to go with it and neither Jolene or Sgt Burns discussed the beer (this may come during the week).

The Ambridge Socialist has researched possible beers named Waterloo Sunset (virtually, not by drinking them). We have ruled out pilsners, sours and porters and think the best fit is a 4.2% golden ale produced by Liverpool’s Rock The Boat brewery.

Of course it might be a one-off Shires Brewery beer. Time may perhaps tell us at 19.02hrs on Radio 4. If not the Ambridge Socialist will delve further…
