The YouGov poll below is of 6,000 people so the results warrant some attention as Kemi Badenoch makes her keynote speech at the Tory Conference on Wednesday.
Most respondents don’t see much change, although some might say (and this was probably not how the poll was slanted) that she has taken it further to the right. I’d agree as she bans support for the ECHR and Net Zero.
The Business Day at the conference on Monday was reported (FT) as some businesses finding reasons to look at the Tories again. Presumably they didn’t hear the speech of the new Shadow Chancellor Andrew Griffith, a reminder that business experience (Sky) does not particularly make a competent politician.
