We have been here before and quite recently.
When Jeremy Corbyn was Labour leader entryists were found to be driving the Party to the left (which in fact was why members elected him) and anti-Semitism was rife. In fact while it is something that must be rooted out when it appears, it transpired that most of the instances that were focused on were not from Labour members. That did not stop, for example, the Campaign Against Anti-Semitism, from campaigning, it often seemed more against Corbyn than anything else.
The pile on worked and now the pilers on are having another go, this time at Zack Polanski and the Green Party. I suspect unfortunately they may find an easier target here. While The Times did agree recently that there are ‘legitimate concerns’ on Palestine this has been forgotten. They are now questioning whether other parties should place a cordon sanitaire around the Greens. Have they ever mentioned this in respect of Reform whose leader has reportedly made anti-Semitic comments? Of course not.
The Guardian, which played a deplorable role in promoting falsehoods about Corbyn now seems to be gunning for Polanski.
The best answer to all this is to keep calm and carry on campaigning for Palestine and against Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
