Celebrity Traitors. James Blunt & Michael Sheen: class & leadership

In Uncategorized on October 24, 2026 by kmflett

There are other things just now- see France- but the 2026 Celebrity Traitors concludes on 29th and 30th October.

As in 2025 reports suggest it consistently draws the highest viewing figures of any TV programme during the year.

Two Traitors have been banished and far more Faithfuls have met the same fate or been ‘murdered’. The odds must be on the Traitors or at least some of them winning the charity money.

One interesting contrast is between singer James Blunt and actor Michael Sheen.

Blunt comes from a well to do background, went to Harrow and Sandhurst, serving in the Army as a Captain for some years.

His organisational skills have been notable in the Missions. However his ability to spot Traitors is, so far, non existent, and it doesn’t look as if the remaining Faithfuls pay much attention to his views.

Michael Sheen comes from a broadly working class background, went to a Port Talbot comprehensive school and then trained as an actor at RADA. He too has been distinctly off the mark in spotting Traitors but he does think about and share his views and is listened to. Like Blunt he has not made an attempt to organise Faithfuls in a bid to topple the Traitors.

Its only a game but I think the conclusion might be that while Blunt isn’t capable of showing leadership at the Roundtable, Sheen is capable. The question of the final week is whether he will and what this says about the role of class in the Traitors…
