The Ambridge Socialist

1st November

An Archdeacon calls

Alex the Archdeacon has called at the Vicarage to outline the procedure to be followed after a complaint from Anna Terrogan. Alan needs a union rep and should have been offered the chance to have one at the meeting. But it’s BBC reporting..

Its Storm(zy) Grundy

At last the name is in and its Storm Joe etc Grundy. Just Stormzy would have been fine

On trees

The tree that fell on Vince was on Rewilding land which is owned by Borchester Land. The BBC are reporting that Vince is talking to lawyers and Martyn Gibson is keen to avoid any claim. It has transpired that the tree in question was due for  a check by Ed Grundy & Co but Kirsty had failed to put it in the diary. Rex is covering up for her, as her pregnancy has led to high blood pressure. A reminder that things have consequences something that is perhaps not as widely appreciated as it once was..

Zainab & the police

Zainab has decided she wants to join the police. Azra warns her that she will encounter racism and discrimination but ultimately agrees that it is up to her.

Keira and school

Keira doesn’t like or want to go to school but likely has a mental health condition meaning its rather more serious than just being fed up with the classroom. Whether this will be grasped by the Grundys remains to be seen.

More on Trees

The great storm of Ambridge has wrecked the community orchard but provided a bumper crop of apples for Grundy cider. A festival is planned for 5th November…
